Native Plant Sale
Washington County Small Woodlands Association
Northwest Native Plant and Tree Sale
Bales Thriftway Store, 17675 SW Farmington Rd., Aloha
Saturday, March 13th 9:00AM to 3:00PM
The Washington County Small Woodlands Association has scheduled its ninth annual Native Plant and Tree Sale for Saturday, March 13th from 9AM to 3PM. The location will be Bales Thriftway Store at 17675 SW Farmington Rd., Aloha. The sale is in response to the community’s overwhelming demand for native plants. Besides their beauty, native plants require less water and fertilizer, and attract wildlife. They are a perfect fit for those interested in both cost saving and “green” landscaping.
ADDED FEATURES:
All plants that have been pre-ordered must be picked up at the sale on Saturday, March 13th between 9:00am and 3:00pm at Bales Thriftway Store,
17675 SW Farmington Rd., Aloha.
All plants are certified, quality nursery stock. With almost 2,000 plants, this is the largest one-day sale of its kind in Oregon. Many species are becoming rare in our Oregon forests and non-existent in developed areas. This year’s sale offers sixteen new varieties.
Master Woodland Managers, “Naturescaping” experts and Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions about selection, suitability, planting and care.
All profits from the sale fund scholarships and community education.

SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED
Five very well qualified students applied for the two scholarships that WCSWA awarded this spring. Members of the committee would have liked to award all five applicants a scholarship; however that was impossible. The scholarship committee this year consisted of Don Moore, Sharon Boge, Bonnie Shumaker, Mike Heath of Stimson Lumber and Norie Dimeo-Ediger of OFRI. The winners of the two scholarships are:
- Jacob Hilger
- Bethany Schroeder
